TikTok Shop Logistics Update: Mandatory Upgraded Shipping & Collections (F

Starting Feb 25, 2026, TikTok Shop will phase in a requirement that all US sellers must fulfill orders via TikTok Shop’s logistics services (TikTok Shipping or Fulfilled by TikTok) rather than self-shipping. In effect, the old Seller‑Fulfilled shipping option will be discontinued. (Note: TikTok already enacted this rule for cross‑border sellers in Dec 2025.) Each seller will get a notice by email (around Jan 21, 2026) with their exact start date. Before that date, you should complete any system updates – for example, ensure your ERP or shipping app is integrated with TikTok (supported partners include AfterShip, 4Seller ERP, ECCANG, LINGXING ERP/WMS, Helm WMS and Voila)  so orders can flow smoothly. TikTok also recommends opting into Fulfilled by TikTok (FBT) for the best service quality.


Transition Checklist for Sellers:

  • Timeline: Look for a Jan 21 notice with your effective date (between Feb 25 and Mar 31, 2026).

  • System Integration: Use TikTok’s Seller Center or an approved ERP/shipping app (e.g. AfterShip, 4Seller, ECCANG, LINGXING, Helm WMS and Voila) to manage orders and print TikTok shipping labels.

  • Service Choice: Familiarize yourself with TikTok’s new logistics options (Upgraded TikTok Shipping and Collections by TikTok) and plan to disable Seller‑Fulfillment by the deadline.

  • FBT Enrollment: If possible, set up Fulfilled by TikTok (FBT) for some orders – TikTok suggests this to improve logistics efficiency and customer experience.

What Is Upgraded TikTok Shipping?

Upgraded TikTok Shipping is TikTok Shop’s new US domestic logistics solution. Under this service, TikTok centrally manages carriers and shipping labels for you, leveraging exclusive negotiated rates (up to 20% cheaper than standard TikTok Shipping). In practice, you continue to ship from your own warehouse, but you print TikTok‑provided labels (via Seller Center or your ERP) and hand packages to TikTok’s preferred carriers. TikTok then automatically selects the optimal carrier for each order (primarily USPS nationwide) to ensure reliable delivery. The goal is faster, cheaper, and more consistent shipping, with TikTok absorbing much of the complexity on your behalf.


Key Benefits:

  • Lower Costs: TikTok’s negotiated rates can save you up to 20% off standard shipping fees. These discounts may grow over time.

  • Performance Penalty Exemptions: TikTok grants special exemptions when you use their logistics. For example, on-time delivery, negative review, and tracking rate penalties do not apply to delays or issues caused by TikTok’s carriers. In other words, late deliveries handled by TikTok’s network won’t ding your Seller Performance Score (except for mistakes like “out of stock” or wrong item).

  • Claims & Complaints Handling: TikTok directly handles all logistics-related complaints and claims. If a package is lost, damaged, or undelivered under TikTok’s shipping network, TikTok Shop will compensate you quickly. These issues won’t count against your metrics; only problems you cause (e.g. shipping the wrong item) are held against your store.

  • Simplified Shipping Process: You don’t have to manually compare carrier rates or track packages. TikTok auto-assigns the best service for each order and uploads tracking info for you. All you need to do is pack orders, print the TikTok label (via Seller Center or ERP), and drop off or have them picked up by the designated carrier.


What Is Collections by TikTok (CBT) and Who Can Use It?

Collections by TikTok (CBT) is an optional door-to-door pickup add-on to Upgraded TikTok Shipping. TikTok-arranged pickup can save you even more on large-volume shipments. Under CBT, TikTok dispatches a carrier to your warehouse to collect orders for you (no need to drop them off). This service is currently available only in select US regions – specifically parts of Greater Los Angeles, the East Coast, and Texas and it can cut logistics costs by up to an extra 30% on top of TikTok’s already discounted rates. Pickup is free, and CBT is fully managed by TikTok, streamlining the process when it’s available.

CBT Eligibility: To use Collections by TikTok, your shop must meet TikTok’s requirements. In general:

  • Your warehouse location must be in one of TikTok’s eligible zones (LA, parts of TX, or East Coast zip codes).

  • Your shop should meet a minimum order volume threshold (TikTok specifies the average daily orders needed, depending on the region).

  • Your warehouse must be set up to handle CBT: it needs the ability to sort CBT-labeled orders separately and hand them over specifically to the designated CBT carrier (just like adding USPS or UPS as carriers in your system).

  • (Note: TikTok paused new CBT enrollments until Jan 5, 2026, so you may need to apply after that date.)

If all conditions are met, you can register a warehouse for CBT. When CBT applies, the TikTok system will use the extra-discounted CBT rates for those orders. Orders shipped outside CBT zones or from non-CBT warehouses simply use the normal Upgraded TikTok Shipping rates.


Managing Multiple Warehouses

If you have multiple warehouses, TikTok Shop’s system will automatically choose the fulfillment location for each order. The platform prioritizes warehouses with inventory closest to the customer, and it gives first priority to any TikTok‑managed (FBT) facility before using a third-party (seller or 3PL) warehouse. In practice, this means you can onboard some warehouses into Upgraded TikTok Shipping/CBT and leave others on self‑fulfillment if desired.

  • Automatic Routing: TikTok will route each order from the warehouse that has the item and will deliver fastest. You don’t need to manually select which warehouse to use.

  • Shipping Rates by Warehouse: If an order ships from a CBT‑enabled warehouse, it gets the CBT rate; if it ships from a regular TikTok Shipping warehouse, it gets the standard TikTok Shipping rate.

  • Mixed-Warehouse Orders: If a single order has inventory split across multiple warehouses (e.g. 2 units in LA, 1 unit in NY), TikTok will split that order into separate shipments from each location. Each sub‑shipment uses the rate of its origin warehouse (CBT or regular TikTok shipping as applicable).

In short, you simply configure all your warehouses correctly in Seller Center (and/or your ERP), and TikTok takes care of the logic. This ensures customers get fast shipping without you manually juggling fulfillment.


Key Operational Requirements & Best Practices

When using Upgraded TikTok Shipping or CBT, sellers must follow TikTok’s operational rules:

  • Quick Dispatch (2 days): All orders must be shipped out within 2 business days of purchase. As soon as you hand off the package to the carrier and it is scanned/picked up, TikTok assumes responsibility for delivery. (Meeting the 2‑day deadline keeps you in compliance and preserves your On-Time Delivery Rate exemption.)

  • Correct Carrier Hand-off (CBT): CBT orders must be given only to the TikTok-designated carrier. Do not mix CBT-labeled packages with other shipments or hand them to the wrong carrier. If you mistakenly give a CBT package to a non-CBT carrier, or mix CBT and non-CBT orders in one box, it can cause delivery delays, lost packages, or extra fees – and TikTok’s logistics protection may be voided.

  • Use TikTok Labels: Print shipping labels through Seller Center or your connected ERP. TikTok Shipping labels include all the necessary tracking info. Once a label is printed, you cannot change the carrier or warehouse for that package. (So double-check the order details in Seller Center before printing.)

  • Prepare Your Warehouse: Give your warehouse team TikTok’s provided operations guides (like the “TikTok Shipping Warehouse Operations Guide”) so they know how to pack, label, and hand over packages under the new system. They should sort CBT orders separately and schedule drop-offs or pickups as instructed by TikTok.

Following these steps ensures that orders flow through TikTok’s network smoothly. When done correctly, sellers effectively outsource most delivery risk to TikTok, in exchange for predictable rates and service.


Seller Support: Claims, Complaints & Fees

TikTok Shop centralizes post-sale support for logistics issues under the Upgraded system:

  • Claims Handling: If a package is lost, damaged, or never delivered due to carrier issues, TikTok will file the claim and compensate the seller directly. This speeds up reimbursement compared to handling it yourself. You do not need to file individual claims with USPS or other carriers TikTok does that on your behalf.

  • Customer Complaints: Any customer complaint that stems from a logistics error (late delivery, missing tracking, etc.) is handled by TikTok and will not hurt your Seller Performance. The only exceptions are complaints about “wrong item” or “damaged item in package,” which are still ultimately your responsibility. In all other cases, TikTok covers the issue.

  • Shipping Fees & Settlement: TikTok deducts the shipping cost from your account after delivery is confirmed. The fee is calculated based on the greater of the package’s actual weight or its volumetric (dimensional) weight. You can set up shipping templates in Seller Center to charge buyers a flat fee or free shipping on orders, but you do not directly control the TikTok‑determined logistics fee; you simply pay whatever the actual carrier rate is. The net shipping cost is taken from your gross merchandise value (GMV) balance or deposit after the order completes.
